Fundraising

Est. 2019

In 2019, we held our first fundraiser in partnership with Zooies Cookies (which are undeniably the best cookies our entire team has ever tried) and raised over $400 for a resettling family from Afghanistan. With that money, we purchased mattresses and cookware for them.

We haven’t stopped since:

  • REP x Zooies partnership: We partnered with a local cookie shop in Los Angeles by making our own menu and hand-delivering cookie orders across Los Angeles. This sale enabled us to fundraise for refugee families while simultaneously supporting a small immigrant business during the pandemic.

  • Child-Friendly Space Campaign: Our fundraising efforts have gone towards a long-term campaign of ours, which sponsors Child-Friendly Spaces in Colombia for Venezuelan refugee children. These Child-Friendly Spaces provide a safe environment for refugee children to learn and socialize while their parents can focus on other aspects of their adjustment to a new country.

  • REP x Social Seclusion: We partnered with a local clothing brand in Los Angeles by designing a clothing collection that spreads awareness on refugee crises and our work. The collection has been featured in pop-up shops across LA and at Clic in Saint Barthélemy. The proceeds go towards Ukrainian Refugee Crisis relief.

Drives

Est. 2020

REP holds drives to collect much-needed items for refugees, displaced people, and asylum-seekers.

We are receptive to their needs, which turn out to be pretty basic: clothes, toiletries, school supplies, technology, medicine, and the dignity they deserve.

  • Tablets: 50 families

  • Essential Care Kits: We collected and hand-delivered 2,600 essential items for refugees resettling across LA during the pandemic

  • Filled Backpacks: We collected 505 backpacks filled with school supplies and toys for elementary and high school level refugees.

  • Technology Drive: We collected used and new technology, including Laptops and iPads, for resettled Ukrainian refugee children entering the school system in France.

  • Clothing: We collected clothing for refugee children, teens, and adults to be delivered to refugees across the LA area and globally.
