The International Rescue Committee (IRC)

Founded by Albert Einstein, the IRC is known for their committed, global response to the needs of "people whose lives and livelihoods are shattered by conflict and disaster." They work in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, and the US. In 2019 alone, they provided over 1.4 million children with schooling and education opportunities, reached over 1.6 million people through their efforts to raise awareness about human rights, protection and gender-based violence, and provided more millions of people with access to clean water, toilets, and hygiene information - and the list goes on.

Miry’s List

Miry’s List is “a movement of neighbors and friends dedicated to welcoming new arrival refugee families into our community through inspired crowdsourcing solutions.” The organization allows people to buy items off of a resettling refugee family’s personalized wish list. We have gotten the opportunity to hear the Miry’s List founder, Miry Whitehill, speak about growing her business and have donated money from our fundraisers to Miry’s List families.

Restore Education After Disasters (READ)

Restore Education After Disasters (READ) is a non-governmental disaster relief organization whose purpose is to assist in restoring educational functions after a natural disaster. READ is designed to provide immediate assistance to schools following disasters to help return students to a sense of normalcy while allowing adults time to take care of their own personal recovery needs. READ has served those who have been displaced as a result of natural disasters such as tornados, and we are honored to have partnered with them to expand their response to those who have been displaced as a result of humanitarian crises such as the Ukrainian refugee crisis.
